Presidency’s Open Dialogue between Parties and Observers

OPEN DIALOGUE TOPICParis in action: How can we boost the ambition of climate action under Paris? The COP26 Presidency set out four goals across adaptation, mitigation, collaboration and finance. As we arrive in Glasgow, real progress has been made but collectively there is much more to do. This discussion will consider how the past few years have gone, and look at what can be done to accelerate climate action in the first half of this decade.Guiding questionsWhat are your most important examples of successes and challenges in ambitious climate action? What are the ingredients needed for ambitious climate action? What kind of ambition is needed across adaptation, loss and damage, mitigation, and finance at COP26 and beyond to safeguard vulnerable communities? What is needed to help drive more political ambition across all climate action? How do the concepts of ‘ambition’, 'net zero' and 'nature-based solutions' shape climate action in practice?TIMING / LOCATIONTime: Thursday 4 November, 15:00-16:30Location: Action Room 2-Zone BPROGRAMMEOpening remarks by COP PresidentOpening remarks by UNFCCC Executive SecretaryInterventions by Observers and Parties.
