Session 2: The Transition to Greater Transport Resilience and COVID-19 Recovery

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of the sector in ensuring transport connectivity, as well as the need to improve the resiliency of the sector to prepare for future disruptions due to climate change, natural disasters, or technology advancement. COVID-19 recovery measures could then be integrated into regional, national or local transport, infrastructure and climate change strategies to support greater resiliency and sustainability in land, maritime and aviation transport.

Session 3: The Just Transition to Transport Equity and Equality

The race to decarbonise the transport sector needs to be coupled with an inclusive and just transition and not leave anyone behind. A just transition for workers in the existing transport sector and of the future will need to receive decent pay, conditions and employment stability. Transport workers would also need to have the knowledge, skills and experience to design and staff transport services of the future. This session will focus on existing standards and initiatives that will ensure a just transport transition as the sector continues to evolve.
