Global Climate Action High-Level Event: Racing for a better world

Actors across the real economy are already demonstrating ambition, leadership and progress towards halving emissions and building the resilience of 4 people by 2030, thereby creating the perfect conditions for political leadership. The transition to a better, greener, healthier and more resilient world is not only technologically possible and economically attractive but also socially beneficial.

This High-Level Global Climate Action event will welcome global leaders to highlight the momentum and action already demonstrated by non-Party stakeholders across the world. Within the mandate received at the twentyfirst session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 21) and at COP 25, this high-level event is convened by the High-Level Champions in collaboration with the COP 25 and COP 26 Presidents and the UNFCCC Executive Secretary. The Global Climate Action High-Level Event, on the penultimate day of COP 26, is to present the Champions’ vision for the improvement of the Marrakech Partnership for 2021-2025, showing the clear path ahead to achieve the halving of global emissions and protecting 4 billion by 2030, while scaling up finance. Further, following the requests of Parties at COP 25, the High-level Champions will also present a plan for an improved Marrakech Partnership, which will be based on key functions, with specific focus on:
